The Post-it Note product line from 3M has been around for decades. It is certainly a mature and global brand — but one that is still evolving in this high-tech era. Click here for a Post-it Note trivia quiz. 🙂

As 3M reports: “The Post-it® Note was invented as a solution without a problem: Dr. Spencer Silver developed a unique, repositionable adhesive, but the 3M scientist didn’t know what to do with his discovery. Then, six years later, a colleague of Dr. Silver, Art Fry, remembered the light adhesive when he was daydreaming about a bookmark that would stay put in his church hymnal. The rest is history. Today, Post-it® Brand boasts more than 4,000 unique products, and has become one of the most well-known and beloved brands in the world.”

post-its are one of the greatest and simplest inventions because they serve many purposes for the common person. Now in the days of technology, more people are using their computers or ipads for communication and other purposes, but the demand for a post-it is still wanted. A person can now go on their computer and use a digitalized post-it note called “stickies”. This new update has allowed post-its to continue to be used by everyone either on an actual object or in your computer.

It is mind-blowing how something so simple like a piece of paper with an adhesive on the back could make billions. It is also fabulous how the creation of a post-it-note is compatible with anything. In addition to it’s convenience, post-its could really be used from anywhere from a bookmark, to leaving notes around to house or to little reminders. The invention of the post-it has made life so much easier. I personally love post-it-notes and I actually use them on a daily basis to fulfill daily needs and reminders.

I never knew that Post-it Notes had become such a large company, producing more than 4,000 products. It’s amazing how such a little invention, basically just paper and special glue, can make such a difference in the world. I took the Post-it Note quiz and didn’t realize how many different television shows, movies, and even Oprah Winfrey have used or endorsed the Post-It brand. In addition Post-It seems to be a charitable company, donating post-it notes to make a giant pink ribbon that was featured in Times Square in support for breast cancer awareness. This is a great brand, and proof that any idea, big or small, can make an impact on the world.
