Being an entrepreneur can be both exhilarating and scary. It gives a person a chance to carry out his/her own vision for a business, while often also entailing a great deal of risk.

As I wrote a while back:

“Though very high level of motivation and an innovative concept for a business are great building blocks for budding entrepreneurs, they are not nearly enough to prosper in the highly competitive marketplace. Becoming a successful entrepreneur — and growing that startup business over a longer horizon — requires many diverse skills and a thorough approach.”

Often times, after starting their new businesses, entrepreneurs look back and ask “what if”? What if I picked a different opportunity? What if I listened to the advice I got? What if I better planned my cash flow? etc. etc.

With this in mind, take a look at the slideshow below: “25 Entrepreneurs Tell What They Wished They’d Known before Founding Their First Startup.”
