I’ve often said curious people make the best marketers so being interested in people and the world around you is key. By the way, great to see Pepperdine on your blog (2004 MBA grad.)

I found this infographic helpful and resourceful. Infographics are an efficient way to bring attention to an issue and make it colorful and more appealing. The attributes cited in this, by Pepperdine University brought up good points and informed me of significant aspects and information that I would not otherwise have had all together in one source. Each factor noted will lead me toward becoming a top marketing executive. The making of a leader starts with drive and passion and although each part of this “anatomy” is important, motivation and determination is the first step necessary to achieve success.

It actually surprised to me learn how much marketing mangers in the US make. I would have assumed more given the degree of knowledge and people skills in many subjects needed to make marketing decisions. However, the quality traits specified in the beginning i believe are subjected to every business major, not just marketing alone.

This post was very interesting, I agree with a lot of information in regards to what makes a great marketer. I think creativity and drive are the top two factors that make an amazing marketer. First, creativity gives power to produce materials that companies never have before. The more creativity one possesses, the more possibilities there are. Secondly, drive I think is a major factor because you have to be driven to contact that perfect target audience for your company. Drive motivates you to make a small business into an industry, its all about patience and effort.

This post was a very interesting one. I agree that creativity and drive are the most important factors. In any situation, drive is always a crucial aspect because without that people will not be able to succed thier goals. I think marketing is such a broad field, that there are endless aspects people could address to be succesful.

The qualities that these executives should have are interesting because I believe these are qualities that anyone in the business world should have for example, creative thinker, outgoing, confident and open to criticism. I believe being open to criticism for a leader or executive is an important qualities because mistakes that a person makes he or she may not believe that mistake was in fact a mistake. Criticism and evaluation by other people can help this executive see the mistakes and will overall make him or her a better executive.

The qualities listed for a business exec I feel are necessary for a wide variety of successful people and not limited to marketing execs. However it is interesting to see the related coursework fields and how they relate to the potential duties. For example, psychology is not something I would consider when discussing related coursework, but in reading many of the duties I could see why it would be helpful in everyday interaction with other people, specifically in the hiring process.

Wow. Marketing executives. That is something I really didnt even know existed. It makes sense now after reading the infographic. It is a really important job. I feel that there would probably be a whole marketing executive team for large firms. Whats interesting to me is that a masters degree is not a requirement yet it is recommended.

The related courses for the CMO is giving me a lot of thoughts. As a current MBA student in marketing, I have deep feeling about how wide the marketing is. After you taking those courses, there are still tongs of information waiting for you to collect. It means even though you are doing a marketing job, you have to open your eyes to catch worldwide trends. Not only because various news will influence customers’ concentration but also because marketers need to be inspired.

This is interesting. Finally we want to be marketing executive person in other’s company or our own company. But what should we prepare? Sometimes they have more vision and sensitive for the market. Sometimes they have good math and speaking skill for them to be a leader. Sometimes they like travel and know global market to control it. I think they are excellent. I think what I need know is experience. This experience is long or short for me but it did help me to know how to win and control in this market. I have to know how to face the change of market. These things can not acquired by me from universities.

After I read this infographic, I feel frustrated and excited. Why am I feel frustrated? Because I know there is a long way for me to pursuit my dream career. The marketing executives not only need to know the marketing, they also need to know the related subjects, like finance and accounting. Also, in their industries, they should clear every details, and have their own ideas about the whole industries. I think I have marketing spirit, so I feel excited that I know what should I do and I want to challenge myself.

I think this article is interesting because of not only the academic needs but the experience needs of a marketing manager. I think that many of the qualities listed are needed for leaders of any field – creative, confident, good leader – are all skills that are beneficial to any type of upper level position. However, the psychology and sociology needs are quite interesting. The new MCAT exam for medical school has recently added psychology and sociology. I find the overlap interesting, as it seems that society as a whole has placed a bigger emphasis on the social sciences that dictate human lives.

Marketing executive is always the dream career for me, but actually, it’s not that easy to be a competent marketing executive. To my understanding, in order to become a qualified marketing executive, you have to be a versatile, a good coordinator; you are familiar with many different aspects of business in your industry, can work with different people no matter they’re your colleagues or clients; a critical thinker, working passionate and confident .

It amazes me of how many talents and backgrounds go into a top-notch marketing executive. This made me start thinking more about my future as far as what courses I should take that aren’t in my requirements.

This infographic was very helpful for me. I am a student of MBA in marketing with a science background. Although I am interested in going into marketing field, I didn’t know what to expect since I have a little to no exposure. Learning what they do and what is needed to get there cleared up my expectation. I especially enjoyed that the MBA degree is a plus. I look forward to working in this field.

Marketing executives really have more managerial works and communication to do than I thought. I found it stressful to do so because it really requires a whole bunch of ability to competently finish the job. But as i think, in management world, the people who at higher level will possess simpler personal mission. And they will blend their simple but meaningful idea into their marketing strategy, business strategy, or even corporation strategy. And some characteristics which is required to do this job might be a general favorable characteristics for any manager. So the type of management in this area is changing from monitoring to providing help.

United states marketing managers do not make as much as i would think. They hold an array of knowledge and skills and I would have assumed more money would be made. However, the traits should be applied to all business fields not just marketing

This was a great infographic. It is helpful to see what is needed to prepare and your duties will be. It was interesting to read that 68% of executives have trouble with the shifting realm of social media since social media is such a huge part of marketing today. This post really helped me gain insight into what executives really have to go through in order to become an executive and what they have to do while holding the executive position.
