Google Search is by far the world’s dominant search engine — with about two-thirds of all searches globally conducted with Google. According to Internet Live Stats: “Google now processes over 40,000 search queries every second on average (visualize them here), which translates to over 3.5 billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year worldwide.”

Yet, most users of Google Search — even those who pay Google to advertise — do not know how the Google search engine actually works. Do you? 🙂

The animated infographic below from Quick Sprout provides some very good insights on Google’s search methodology.

  1. The way google works is crazy, Millions of users every second access the site but probably dont even know how it works. It is crazy how every 1/8 of a second google is tracking the words in the pages you are on. I was always curious how much money google makes on advertisements as well. Google search tracks what you do just like an add-on site that i use. It is called Qmee. This website attaches to members search engines and will randomly show an ad on the side of the screen based on what you re searching. For example if you are searching for a camera, an advertisement will pop up on the screen that is trying to sell you a camera. You may ask why would anyone want this kind of annoying add on? The simple answer is the site pays you through Paypal overtime you merely click the advertisement. This is a win win because if someone ends up buying the advertised product Qmee takes a commission, and hey free advertisement ! The coolest integration i think google has is voice search. The internet is becoming easier and easier to use by the second.
