Through the infographic, we offer a number of tips for you to shop smarter. Indeed, there should a valuable tip for everyone here. And probably more than one. 🙂

So, here are our 2019 shopping tips as a checklist. Click the infographic to see a larger version.

By applying ALL of the tips in the infographic, you will be a much better holiday shopper. Start shopping now. Do not wait until Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or just before Christmas. Do not shop for all gifts at one time. Buy them as prices drop for each big-ticket item. Do not be fooled into thinking that retailers offer discounts (“sales”) on all the products that they promote. Some products are at their regular selling prices. Be flexible and comparison shop for the best deals. And try not to rely on impulse shopping. Stick to a shopping list. In general, act as smart as you can while shopping.

  1. The tip on student prices is always an important one. Students do not always realize that retailers mark down products by 30-50% on average for their student consumers. For example, Adobe Creative Cloud retails at $52 per month for all services for the regular consumers, but students get that same package at $21 a month, and this holiday season they marked it down further to $19 per month. Companies have begun bundling subscription services together and selling them at student pricing as well.

  2. Such as author wrote in the article, many retailers mark up their price before big holidays, therefore the best “sales” days are not Black Friday or Cyber Monday. In China, “Double 11” shopping day is getting popular, which is like Black Friday in the U.S.. However, many retailers extend their sales to clean up their inventory. So that when we shopping on holidays, don’t buy on impulse, be knowledgeable.
