Blogging can be rewarding in many ways. This is written as we hit post 685 on this blog (and 835 on my other blog on retailing). It can be a great way to connect to people around the world. But, it is time consuming, too.
If you are hesitant to become a blogger, here are several things to consider (from Rosalind Gardner):
- Do you enjoy communicating with people?
- Do you have a topic that interests you enough to talk about on an ongoing basis?
- Do you prefer to write, speak, or make videos?
- Do you enjoy learning new skills?
- Are you a self-starter?
- Do you have time to invest in your blog?
- Do you really want to be famous?
- Can you handle criticism?
- Are you patient and persistent?
- Do you have a sense of humor?

I really like this post because I think blogging seems so cool. I’ve always loved writing and communicating with people. Even at a young age, I loved to share ideas and thoughts with others and see their reaction. I also think that there is a lot that goes into a blog and a commitment that I’m not sure if I could do, as well as writers block if you post recently. It’s very interesting to read about someone who is a blogger and shows her perspective of being a blogger. I think it has so many advantages and it’s also something so new that could possibly be even bigger in the future. I enjoyed reading this!
While I may enjoy reading blogs, I don’t think the role of the blogger is for me. I rather enjoy researching existing blogs and reading what other people have to say. I feel as though I have too many interests and responsibilities to dedicate an adequate amount of time to posting to a blog on a daily or weekly basis. As a college student, it is difficult enough find time to do homework, let alone extra writing!
