Small Business Saturday 2019

Hello Shoppers. And welcome to Small Business Saturday 2019 . Today represents the tenth year of this shopping event.

Because of its importance to small businesses, we post about it each year. Small firms very much value our patronage. So, don’t only shop at a chain store. In addition, shop locally. If you do, odds are better that your small firms will still exist in 2020. As we discussed last year, Remember Small Business Saturday.

Shop Locally This Year: Small Business Saturday 2019

As American Express, the founder of Small Business Saturday, points out:

“This November 30, you can be a part of the 10th annual holiday shopping tradition. It helps to bring communities together in support of their favorite small businesses. Are you ready to Shop Small® and make a big impact in your community?”

“From 2010 through 2018, Small Business Saturday spending  reached a reported estimate of $103 billion since the day began — that’s $103 billion over 9 days alone.

Other Small Business Saturday Resources

To conclude, here are other resources for you. They apply to both retailers and shoppers.

According to this video, small businesses REALLY need your help this year.

When shoppers spend $100 at a local firm, about $68 stays in the local economy. If shoppers buy the same amount at a big chain, just $43 remains in the local economy (Source: Civic Economics Study in Grand Rapids, Michigan).

Finally, the U.S. Small Business Administration supports Small Business Saturday and other initiatives during the year. These initiatives benefit retailers. As well as consumers.

Inspired? Then, go out and shop. In your neighborhood.
