This is an interesting article title, right? Yet, it’s true. We need to communicate who we are and why we are the right applicant for a job — without coming across as too cocky or arrogant.
As Joshua Waldman writes for Careerealism.com: “Branding is a very creative process. So, put on your creativity hat. Seriously. Think about three emotional words that might best describe you. Write them down. Now, think about what colors best represent those words. What images best represent those words? Now, look at your business cards, profile images, and your professional headlines. Do these elements reflect your brand? If not, change them. Those three words are going to inform everything you do. Every sentence you write. Every elevator pitch you deliver.”

I can definitely see how some people come across as jerks when trying to introduce their new business. I remember seeing a commercial for I think Gary’s Gutter Service where the guy rapped in his commercial and just looked like a complete idiot. The commercial did grab my attention, but I only thought about how much of a jerk this guy must be. When starting a business or advertising a business, making yourself look like an idiot or a jerk can definitely hurt your business.
People say who you are represent what you wear, how you look, and the way you act. I think it is very true. Many people always act they are better than the others, but I think everyone is different and unique. We all should find the best in ourself and represent it in a healthy way, rather than doing something overly and cocky. I’m sure for doing a business is the same thing, use your sincereness and your true color to create something and become successful.
