The breadth of the Walt Disney Co. has grown dramatically over the years, with such acquisitions as ABC (which includes ABC TV, ESPN, and other properties), Pixar (the animated movie dynamo), Marvel (the comic book giant), and most recently Lucasfilm (the creator of Star Wars) — all of which complement Disney’s own content, theme parks, and much more.

Disney is one of the most famously known companies throughout the world. It is a parent company to many television networks, owns theme parks across the globe, and invests in much more. Is bigger always better though? Expansion has to stop somewhere. Disney continues to acquire the rights to more and more. Some Disney fanatics are happy about the ownership of Star Wars, while some Star War fans are not. Where will Disney draw the line?
I believe the people behind Disney are very smart when it comes to making decisions regarding the growth of the company. Not only do they have revenue coming in from various channels, movie productions etc, but they also take advantage of the expansion of theme parks. Although some people may not be happy about the new ownership of Lucasfilm, I personally am not shocked because of how fast and large Disney is, and will continue, to expand itself.
I wonder what Disney is going to go after next now that they have Lucas Films. I honestly can’t keep track of everything Disney owns currently in my head anymore. However in my opinion Disney usually does a good job with almost everything they get their hands on. In regards to the Lucasfilm aquisition I don’t believe Disney could do much worse for the Star Wars Universe after episodes I, II, and III recieved mixed reactions from fans of the series.

Disney is a very smart company, focus on cartoon, to be the best. Although Disney is many companies’ parents company, we can still find that those kind of companies have strong connection with theme park and cartoon. It is not easy for a long history company still focus on what they did at the first beginning.
I’m sure Disney knows what its fans will expect from the Star Wars films. It’s just that when I hear Disney, I automatically think of Disney world, cartoons, theme parks, characters, music, magic, etc. I forget that it is the name behind ESPN, Pixar, Marvel, and other companies. From a business standpoint I’m curious as to what other risks Disney will take to expand even further, how it will maintain its prosperity and what lengths it will go to in order to have creative control of future projects.

Disney is already known as a huge company, but it just keeps growing. Disney is known for its various movies, tv shows, characters, and even amusement parks. But one would never think that disney owns ABC and ESPN, because it has nothing to do with the way most think of the disney company. I think that it is interesting that disney bought the company that owns the star wars movies. I think that if disney put together a star wars movie it would have all of the best aspects that a movie can have. However, this could also upset star wars fans because disney can ultimately ruin the movie. They can add things or take away this that are rememberable to a star wars fan. Either way i would see, and most likely enjoy the star wars movie that disney comes out with.
I am a big Disney fan, and Its mind blowing how far Disney has come. I didn’t know that they bought ESPN. It’s confusing now, what is disney trying to do. Th acquisiton of lucas film, doesn’t even fit the image of Disney corporation.

Disney is taking over the world. I love Disney, but with everything they own how could you not love some part of it? The people at Disney obviously know what they are doing, but how far can they go before they own everything?
I think Disney is doing great at expanding their company in all aspects. I think that part of the reason they are so successful and popular is because they always are coming out with new movies and classics. I think it’s great that they own so much however, I worry for other companies and networks, there is no way they would ever be able to compete with Disney.

As there is strategy window challenge for exiting company in the aspects of “trade-off”, I am not sure whether such acquisition would also brings trade-off effects for big companies. However, sony’s success in sony film argues for itself. There must be some effects of synergy.
Disney expand their business in multiple field, but its brand image is very impressive to the consumers. People especially for young generation like Disney products, so they will be likely to accept the Disney products than other brands. Disney has been doing a successful business in building brand image and brand loyalty. Almost all people had a dream to go to Disney theme park someday when were young, like me.
Disney is one of the most successful companies in the world. it is a good role model for many companies with famous cartoon design. they can imitate Disney’s business model. Through their own design, they can partner with a lot companies for the profits growth.
