From a business perspective, companies want to know if the money they spend on Facebook advertising is getting results. Recently, there been reports that a lot of the ad clicks on Facebook are generated by bots and not real people. To say the least, this is a concern for advertisers.

According to Dave Thier, writing on Forbes.com: “We already knew that Facebook ads aren’t as effective as some companies would like them to be, but it’s looking like a low level of user engagement with advertising might be just the tip of the iceberg. A company called Limited Run is pulling its entire Facebook presence and leaving the social media giant with some unsavory accusation that’s clouding the charge that up to 80 percent of clicks on its ads were coming from bots.”
